About the Role

To plan, develop, integrate and manage the policies, strategic direction and standards for the deployment of Information technology and related business and technical systems within THE BANK. Provide direction,
guidance and advice to all units on future direction and objectives, with special emphasis of satisfying meeting business targets. As Corporate Functional Discipline Head, manage staff competence standards development, training and development, whilst developing staff competence levels and meeting Omanisation targets.

• Manage the staff assigned to the level directed by senior management.
• Plan, design and execute THE BANK's IT Infrastructure as an integrated set of facilities and
services meeting THE BANK business, Strategic requirements and Vision in a cost effective and
transparent manner. Ensure THE BANK IT is align ed with Business Objectives
• Provision of General and Specialist IT Services to Business Managers and their staff on the basis of
documented and agreed SLAs or as directed by the IT Steering Committee
• Monitor projects and change management processes to safeguard the integrity, availability and
confidentiality of electronically held information. Regular review and benchmarking to demonstrate
progress towards performance targets. Secure Corporate Information and infrastructure to protect and
safeguard the THE BANK assets. Deploy business continuity and disaster recovery procedures.
Monitoring and reporting compliance and effectiveness of IT systems and business controls. Review and
approval of any deviations from the management systems and maintenance of records of such
approvals
• The establishment of corporate IT requirements, discipline based information plans and infrastructure
requirements, and identifying integration opportunities where appropriate or to ensure optimal use of IT
resources. Establishing a business partnership with all THE BANK Business Teams to ensure IT requirements are jointly developed for any new strategic initiative
• Staff motivation, promotion of efficient team work and empowerment
• Champion key staff competencies including project management excellence. The development of all IT
staff, in particular the functional development schemes of young graduate staff.

Requirements

Graduate in Computing, Engineering, Telecommunications or Science

At least 12-15 years experience in core IT disciplines, such as: Information systems, Information planning, business analysis, application development and maintenance, Portfolio management or / and project management in a corporate environment with a proven understanding of the Banking Industry common IT policies, standards and guidelines. Ideally in depth experience will have been gained in several relevant areas of IT.
