About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing the strategic planning framework for the organization, aligning with the overall business goals and objectives. This involves conducting market analysis, identifying competitive trends, and assessing opportunities and risks in the banking industry.

2. Performance Management: Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and targets to measure and monitor the performance of various business units and functions. This includes implementing performance tracking systems, conducting regular performance reviews, and providing insights to senior management.

3. Analytics and Insights: Overseeing the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to derive meaningful insights and support data-driven decision-making. This involves utilizing statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and business intelligence tools to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.

4. Financial Planning and Budgeting: Collaborating with finance teams to develop annual budgets, financial forecasts, and financial targets aligned with the organization's strategic objectives. This includes conducting financial analysis and scenario planning to optimize resource allocation and achieve financial goals.

5. Business Reporting: Creating and delivering periodic reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior management, providing updates on business performance, key insights, and recommendations for improvement. This may involve analyzing financial statements, market trends, and other relevant data to identify areas of strength and areas that require attention.

6. Stakeholder Management: Collaborating with various internal stakeholders, such as department heads, business unit leaders, and senior executives, to gather input, align priorities, and facilitate decision-making. This role may also involve engaging with external stakeholders, such as regulatory bodies, industry associations, and clients, to stay abreast of market trends and changes in the banking industry.

7. Continuous Improvement: Driving a culture of continuous improvement by benchmarking industry best practices, identifying areas of inefficiency or operational gaps, and recommending strategies for optimization and enhanced performance.

8. Business Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline and optimize business processes within the bank to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience. Implement strategies and initiatives to drive process improvement initiatives.

9. Risk Management: Collaborate with the risk management team to identify and manage risk factors associated with the division’s operations. Implement risk mitigation measures and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

10. Project Management: Oversee and manage strategic projects and initiatives within the bank. This includes defining project scope, allocating resources, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely delivery of project outcomes.

11. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including executive management, department heads, and staff members. Collaborate with other business units to drive synergies and facilitate cross-functional cooperation.

12. Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present reports to executive management and the board of directors, providing updates on the division’s performance and progress against strategic objectives. Communicate effectively with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency

Requirements

The incumbent plays a critical role in shaping the group's strategic direction, ensuring effective performance management, and leveraging data and insights to drive business growth and success in a highly competitive banking environment.

 

The role’s span of control is leading the strategic planning, performance management, and analytical functions within the division. This position is responsible for driving the overall business performance, identifying opportunities for growth, and ensuring effective decision-making based on data and insights.
